Cornflake Girl, the first, by now intensely awaited new single, includes the unrealsed Sister Janet and Piano Suite. Part two is one of the harder-to-find UK CD singles. This beautiful, limited edition picture CD is packaged in a fold-out digipak with a short statement from Tori regarding each of the three artists covered here. Two of these songs Tori used to play live in her early club days in Baltimore and Washington, Joni Mitchell's seductive A Case Of You and Billie Holiday's Strange Fruit, the latter having been recorded at 5:30am after Tori awoke to find "The Forces" bidding her to do so. A truly amazing version of Jimi Hendrix's If 6 Was 9--with Tori playing her piano through a Marshall amp--is also included. Cornflake Girl became Tori's highest charting UK single to date, reaching number four.
