Strange Little Girl was to be released on October 9, 2001 as the first single from the album, Strange Little Girls. Tori recently left the Atlantic Recording Company record label and all scheduled releases of this single for the US and UK were apparently cancelled. All copies of the single which were already shipped, were to be pulled from the shelves. Despite that, some Strange Little Girl singles were leaked to the public, though copies are limited. The single was previously scheduled for release in September 2001
however, for other unknown reasons, the date was pushed back. It is possible that part of the reasons for these actions were due to the fact that the original photo for the Strange Little Girl character photo required last minute editing. The original photo included a phrase on Tori's shirt, "Adam Kiss My Eve", which was later changed to "Satin Worship" due to copyright issues. This could have halted and delayed production on the single, if the photo was intended for the cover art.
