In 1988 a track called Distant Storm
was used in the direct-to-video (except in Hong Kong) martial arts film
China O'Brien. Distant Storm
is credited to Tess Makes Good but Ellen Amos
is listed as contributing 'additional vocals'. The track is used only in the first few minutes
of the film while China drives across the desert; it is relatively clean and free of dialogue.
Although not written by Tori, the voice is unmistakable. When she heard the song years later,
Tori remembered recording it but had had no idea it was ever used. Tori did however, remember
being paid $150 to record it. It was recorded around the same time as
Y Kant Tori Read and forgotten about. The film, by Enter The Dragon
director Robert Clouse, stars Cynthia Rothrock as China,
seeking revenge for her father's death at the hands of drug smugglers...etc. The video
should be available for rental. Do not confuse this with the sequel several years later, China O'Brien 2
which Tori does not appear on.
