This song is a Tori and Michael Stipe duet, originally recorded for the soundtrack to Don Juan Demarco and then slated for release but left off of the Empire Records soundtrack. It Might Hurt A Bit has yet to see a release although Tori has promised to remix it and release it one day.

With REM's Monster still high on the charts, Michael Stipe is already back in the studio, this time with pop chanteuse, Tori Amos. The two are writing and recording a song (featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flea and Dave Navarro on bass and guitar) for the upcoming Johnny Depp/Marlon Brando movie, Don Juan DeMarco.

"We [w/ Michael Stipe] wrote a song together called It Might Hurt but it kind of took a vacation. Maybe I'll resurrect it sometime, I don't know. We were put together by one of the film guys at Atlantic Records, and we got along like a house afire. He's very special.

"It's in the vaults. I don't know. I mean, I have to find out where the masters are to be honest. It got real sticky at that time. I know you're looking at me going, "you don't know where the master is?" but off the top of my head, I don't. Because we were doing it for a film it got out of control. I haven't talked to Michael about it in a while. It's funny, the last time I saw him, we didn't talk about it, it's not something we bring up."
