LYRICS

Indian Summer
fresh mown grass
Girls in the attic
looking on them
Indian Summer
call me back
someone tell me there's another way
is it loud?
is it autumn that you're talking about?
is it what? is it lost on
what i'm talking about here...
is it just that
you just cant find a way out
find another way

Teach me how to pray
Indian Summer
through the year
on the medicine wheel
call me back
trap me in between
Somewhere west
Somewhere south
it seems these days anything west Gets the blade
Gets wasted

is it right is it real
what you're talking about
Everything that i feel
you're talking about
Sometimes i don't know what
i'm hearing now
is there another way

There is another way
another way to pray
Girls take your hands
like you pray
all over the ground
then back on your body
Girls take your hands
like you pray
through the blades of grass
Gently, gently - gently

There is another way
Yes another way
Another way to pray

Indian Summer
fresh mown grass
Can you Mr. Bush light the sage
Can you anyone that's listening
find a way
it is clear, it is clear
that we need another way
another way to pray

Do you feel
Do you feel now
what I'm talking about
Everywhere that I look
No one's comin' out --
Out with it, What it is
they're feelin' now
There is another way
Another way to pray

Welcome To Sunny Florida

COMMENTS

Tori performed this song live (solo), in-concert for the first time during the Lottapianos Tour in Tucson, AZ on August 5, 2003. The studio version of this song was released officially as one of Scarlet's Hidden Treasures on May 18, 2004 as part of the Welcome to Sunny Florida DVD/CD set.

This song has not yet been officially released. Indian Summer, along with Seaside and Mountain, are b-sides from the album Scarlet's Walk. Little details are available at this time as to how the songs will be released.

Another detail specific to Indian Summer was reported by a fan (Ghaleon) who asked Tori about this particular song. According to Ghaelon, Tori said that Indian Summer used to be Fresh Mown Grass and that it would be the next song featured at Scarlet's Web.

"And sometimes when I'm with my husband or when I'm with myself, I feel the greatest passion is feeling myself, feeling that I can open up, like the earth would open up. It's a kind of birthing with myself It's tapping into that vortex and you don't need another person for that. I've been writing a song about that called Fresh Mown Grass about how women are really able to access that through kundalini and have a complete orgasm, just because we're women and can align ourselves."
