LYRICS

angie, angie, when will those clouds all disappear
angie, angie, where will it lead us from here
with no loving in our souls and no money in our coats
you can't say we're satisfied,
but angie, angie, you can't say we never tried.

angie, you're beautiful, but ain't it time we said goodbye
angie, i still love you, remember all those nights we cried
all the dreams we held so close seemed to all go up in smoke
let me whisper in your ear
angie, angie, where will it lead us from here

oh, angie, don't you weep, all your kisses still taste sweet
i hate that sadness in your eyes
but angie, angie, ain't it time we said goodbye

with no loving in our souls and no money in our coats
you can't say we're satisfied
but angie, i still love you, baby
ev'rywhere i look i see your eyes
there ain't a woman that comes close to you
come on baby, dry your eyes
but angie, angie, ain't it good to be alive
angie, angie, they can't say we never tried

COMMENTS

"I wanna play you one of my favorite songs of all time. This is my song...with my first....love, hmmph!"
-- Tori; in-concert

"Certain songs that I think change your life, anyway. This is one of those songs that umyou know when the parents would go away. Eileen Gallehger's parents would go away. And we'd go over to her house. All the kids in our class and the older boys which is always good. two years older. and they'd come over Eileen's house and uh, you know, girls, there's always that one you kind of wanna be in a corner with. And your friend Cindy gets him. But um, anyway, she's like your best friend so you can't kill her. But um, so you're like hanging out thinking well maybe Cindy'll get tired and I'll take seconds, it's ok. But um, she doesn't get tired. So you're sitting there, you know..(humming) and the guy in geometry that you kind of hate is sitting over there um rubbing himself and stuff. And you figure ok it's definitely time for me to go get the pizza. So you go get the pizza and you hear this song and it doesn't matter that Cindy is with that guy because you can have anybody you want when you listen to this song."
-- Tori; in-concert; Detriot, MI 07/04/94

Tori performed the Tuesday Afternoon improv as an intro to Angie during the Pink Tour in London, England at Capitol Radio on March 18 (Friday), 1994. This song can be found on the Candle in the Wind and Under The Covers bootlegs.
