Hereinmyhead.com is a non-profit, Tori Amos fansite, which has been online since 1996; developed, designed and maintained by me. I've done my best to share what information I've organized and make available the downloadable files which make this site unique. As much as I love maintaining my site, the downside is that it has become a bit costly for me and those who have generously donated server space for the Diagnosed Sounds section.
I refuse to compromise the integrity and the aesthetic value of the site by adding banners, spam or pop-up ads. Recently, I've received a few emails asking about how they could help out through a donation of some sort, so I thought that if I added something like the inobtrusive Paypal Donation button, that it would be up to you whether you felt motivated to help support the site.
Please understand that you are under no obligation to donate any money for using any part of this web site. But it would be incredibly appreciated! No contribution is too small. Your donation would go directly towards paying for the cost of maintaining the site as detailed in the table below. Do I have to donate?
Not at all. This is only an optional choice for those who feel that they want to help out the site in some way. See below for other ways you can help out.
Will you close the site if no one donates?
I had already made the decision back in 2000 to pay for my own website in order to make it what it is. I will still continue this site even if no one donates, because it is something that I enjoy. Some day, it may become too cumbersome to maintain. But my wish would be that it continues for as long as Tori makes music, and perhaps beyond.
Do you do this for a living?
I do not get paid for anything involving this website.
Why PayPal?
PayPal is one of the more reputable, secure and convenient services for collecting donations online. Most people use it for Ebay, but it works for just about anything. I've created an account specifically for this website. PayPal will deposit your donation from your credit card (or bank account) directly into the hereinmyhead.com PayPal account. As a sidenote, Paypal does take 2.9% plus a $0.30 fee from each donation received.
Other Ways To Help
Others ways to help support hereinmyhead.com is to order items for yourself using the Amazon.com referral links throughout this website. There are item links for most of the items in the Collections section directing to specific Tori merchandise available at Amazon.com. However, you can order all kinds of non-Tori-related stuff from Amazon and it would still be counted towards supporting the site as long as you click through those referral links. Amazon rewards associates with a tiered referral fee system for successfully sold items generated by the links on this website. You can also visit the new hereinmyhead.com Amazon Store, which features all of Amazon's Tori-related merchandise together on one page.
